Amendment Bill -
PowerPoint Presentation
The Department of Housing tabled the above
mentioned Bill (PIE Amendment Bill) in Parliament.
The Department of Housing presented the Bill
to their Portfolio Committee on Wednesday, 25 May 2005.
The Portfolio Committee agreed with the Departments' proposal that,
in light of the current developments with regard to housing and land
issues, that there is a need to allow for further comprehensive
consultation between Housing and Land Affairs, Provincial and Local
Government etc. as well as a review and alignment of legislation
dealing with evictions, specifically Labour Tenants Act, ESTA and
PIE. Planning legislation must also be integrated.
